City of literature!
It has just been announced that Dublin has been designated a City of Literature by UNESCO - the cultural arm of the United Nations. It is only the fourth city to receive this prestigious award. Liberties Press is thrilled with the news, particularly as one of the Dublin based literary publishers operating in this newly nominated 'City of Literature'.
In many ways 2010 has been a year of literature too for Liberties Press, long seen as one of Ireland's leading publishers of non-fiction titles, with the release of our first new fiction titles as Elizabeth Wassell's Dangerous Pity and Mogue Doyle's Mr Bawman Wants to Tango. Liberties Press is delighted to be part of the vibrant contemporary literary scene in Dublin and hopes this honour for the city sees a continued and growing support for Irish published literature across all sectors and the public at large.
