Condemned on TG4
Liberties Press author, Séan Ó Riain, is the subject of a wide-ranging interview with Máirtín Tom Sheáinín on TG4's popular "Comhrá" programme. He talks at length about his book Condemned: Letters from Death Row on the programme which will be broadcast on TG4, Thursday 18th February, at 7.30pm with a repeat on Sunday 21st February at 7pm. The programme is sub-titled.
Sarah Hackett - The Irish Post:
With [Ray's] letters telling us about the denied dreams, the unfulfilled desires, the loneliness and the fear it brings into focus the controversies of death row whilst also making you question your own personal views. It is at times an uncomfortable read but one that is fascinating and shows an extraordinary perspective on an unusual situation.
I was impressed by Ó Riain's ability to develop a rapport with someone whose life experiences have been very different from his own. Condemned makes its arguments against the death penalty in a quiet, understated manner but the arguments made are irrefutable.
