Green Guide Available Soon
Going Green: The Irish Guide to Living a Greener Life and Saving Money is a must-have guide to some of the major green issues facing Ireland – and the world – today: it both educates the reader on the issues themselves, and offers the practical ways we as individuals can help to save the environment – and maybe even a few quid in the process.
As words like ‘climate change’, ‘green economy’ and ‘Copenhagen’ hang on the lips of people across the country, this practical guide balances informing the reader of the issues at hand and giving hard, practical advice on what we can (and should) all do to help save our planet (and often our wallets!) – in a uniquely Irish context. From alternative energy, greenhouse gas emissions, government lip-service and the cycle-to-work scheme to biodiversity and farmer’s markets and the importance of local, seasonal foods, Going Green: The Irish Guide to Living a Greener Life and Saving Money offers expert advice and information on the major environmental issues facing us today.
As the former award-winning Environment Correspondent of the Irish Independent, Tony O’Brien’s experience of environmental issues is broad: he has also has inspected incinerators in Copenhagen and ridden the trams in Lyon and Manchester before the arrival of Dublin’s Luas. He has reported on and commented on political and economic discussions on the environment here and abroad including sittings of the European Parliament. He has more than twenty years experience in national and local journalism and more than ten years in public and media relations. He has reported on all of the major environment-related issues including transport, planning, wind energy, nuclear power, local government, waste and recycling. He established his own consultancy – Tony O’Brien Communications – in 2000.
