The Republic of Conscience - Metro's Christmas Book

We were delighted to read in this morning's Metro (08.12.09) that From the Republic of Conscience: Stories Inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights has been chosen in a selection of Christmas books from 2009. The only Irish-published book, From the Republic of Conscience was highlighted as a "Good Read, Good Cause" ... with all author royalties going to Amnesty, what better present for all your loved ones than this magnificent book?

Presented in fine hardback, this book features stories and essays from Neil Jordan, Anne Enright, Colm Tóibín, Roddy Doyle, Kevin Barry, Frank McCourt - to whom the book is dedicated - Maeve Binchy, Jennifer Johnston amongst many others, and alongside visual artists such as Amelia Stein, Louis Le Brocquy, Jim Fitzpatrick, Mick O'Dea, and again a host of talented others.
