Great Irish Book Week

Great Irish Book WeekGreat Irish Book WeekThe Great Irish Book Week will take place from Saturday 24 October, running until Saturday 31 October, 2009.

The Great Irish Book Week is designed so that you know a Great Irish Book when you see one. Liberties Press are supporting this endeavour. An independent panel of booksellers has selected 30 new fiction, poetry, non-fiction and Irish-language books to showcase the best new Irish titles, including My Father, the General.

My Father, The GeneralMy Father, The General: Richard Mulcahy and the Military History of the Revolution draws on the official Mulcahy archive as well as family and personal recollections. Richard Mulcahy's story is characterised almost entirely with the ideal of public service; something that seems to be missing in this age of cynicism.

Liberties Press are delighted to have received brand new stock of Risteárd Mulcahy's sold-out book, My Father, the General: Richard Mulcahy and the Military History of the Revolution. The book is once again for sale on the website, and the book page features many extras, including an extract from the start of the book and reviews from the likes of John Bruton, Michael Kennedy, Tom Widger and Ireland's Own amongst many others.

Be Inspired - Gems of Irish Writing
