Culture Club: Poems; where do they come from; where do they go? by Daragh Bradish

We are delighted to present a poetry talk by debut Liberties Press poet Daragh Bradish (Easter in March, due 2016).

From the first spark to the finished poem, the talk takes us on an imaginative journey which references 2,500 years of lyric making from ancient Lesbos to modern South Africa. This continuity is possible because poetry connects us to each other and brings us to an expanded awareness of what it is to be human.  But how does the poet work his or her subject matter, which may be pretty vague to start with, into a shaped vision which resonates with the reader? This talk will be of interest to both readers and writers of poetry.  As usual, there will be wine and coffeeand you will have an opportunity for questions and discussion after Daragh's talk.

Tickets are €5; or €6 on the door. Advance tickets may be redeemed for a Liberties Press purchase on the night (at the moment we can't redeem against any other publisher's books). You can book online here or in person at the shop.
