We at Liberties Press were very sorry to hear of the death of Professor Risteárd Mulcahy. Some words from our publisher, Seán O' Keeffe, below.
"A conversation with Risteárd was never dull; he was an incredibly unique individual, who always had new ways of looking at the world. His book Improving With Age (2004) was the second book Liberties ever published. We then went on to work with him on four further books: Is the Health Service for Healing? (2006), My Father, The General (2009) (a book about his father, Richard Mulcahy, head of the Free State forces), Memoirs of a Medical Maverick (2010) and On the Survival of Humanity (published earlier this year).
We will all miss his trenchant opinions, great courtesy and warm friendship. Our deepest sympathies go to his entire family, including his wife Louise, his son Richard and daughter Lisa and his many friends."
