It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of Jack Harte. Inspired by the example of Jim Larkin and motivated by his experiences in the Second World War (during which he served in the British Army and was imprisoned in a German POW camp), Jack campaigned tirelessly to improve the lives of working people. He served for many years as a Labour Party senator.
Liberties Press was delighted to publish his autobiography, co-written with his niece Sandra Mara entitled To the Limits of Endurance. Uniquely, the book was launched in Dáil Éireann - a measure of the great esteem in which Jack was held. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family.
