Launch(es) of Thickets Wood by Rebecca Reid

What a busy past two weeks we've had! Our newest release, Thickets Wood by Rebecca Reid, is well and truly launched. We held two events to commemorate our May release, in both Dublin and Belfast – our Northern venue being a mere distance away from Rebecca's hometown in Bangor.

Thickets Wood is a novel that isn't afraid to explore the dark side. It's a remarkably intriguing read: spilling over with tension and suspense, the kind that makes you both worry for, and warm to, the characters, in equal measure. Artist Neil Shawcross provided the eerily brilliant cover design for the limited edition of Thickets Wood, which was inspired directly by the story.

This limited edition of the book, available in hardback only, can purchased exclusively through our website.
Retailing at €29.99, it can be bought in conjunction with a framed print made by Stoney Road Press. A sample print of which currently hangs in our office!

Launch 1.0 - Dublin

The Dublin launch was held on May 6th in lovely surroundings of The Gutter Bookshop in Temple Bar with crime novelist Arlene Hunt agreeing to launch. Given a mere six days to read the book (thanks Arlene!) our esteemed launcher spoke about
Thickets Wood as ''transcending genres and dealing with uncomfortable themes, such as loss and fragmentation. Human conditions are put into flesh and blood. A wonderful book''.

You can view all of the photos of the night on our Facebook page. Here's a few teasers below!

Launch 2.0 - Belfast

On May 15th we congregated again, this time in The John Hewitt Bar, in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter, for the Northern launch of Thickets Wood. This launch was more like a homecoming rather than a literary event, as Rebecca’s friends and family from near and far gathered to celebrate her debut.

Literary agent Paul Feldstein introduced the event, alongside the renowned artist Neil Shawcross. Neil referred to his close friendship with Rebecca and her family and briefly regaled the crowd with stories of a younger Rebecca. Neil closed his speech by giving Thickets Wood a whopping accolade, comparing it to the Grimms’ fairy tales. Well, that's us sold . . .
