About the author: Orla McHugh is a counselor and psychotherapist who specialises in working with adolescents and their families in her practice in Dublin. She is a parent of teenagers herself and has professional experience of dealing with bereavement, suicide, alcohol and drug addiction, separation and divorce, and sexual abuse.
